Can a herbal peel be better than microdermabrasion treatment? | D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel Review

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel

What kind of scrub do you use in your skincare routine? I like to switch between chemical and physical scrubs. Microdermabrasion is a procedure that removes the dead skin cells from your skin. Nowadays, we got all these tools for home use like cleansing brushes, and some microdermabrasion devices are easy to use at home. But have you ever heard about microdermabrasion in a scrub? D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel is a scrub based on natural ingredients which I wanted to try because as a trained professional I wanted to understand why D'Alchemy decided to give such name to the scrub.

About D'Alchemy

D'Alchemy is a young polish skincare brand. I tried to track the brand's history, but I couldn't find reviews and articles before 2018. D'Alchemy concept is easy - they mix natural ingredients with technology. It sounds simple, but it's more complicated than we can imagine. Selected components have to be certified, and they can't lose their properties in the process of making a product. You won't find here ingredients such as milk, honey, caviar, collagen and other animal-derived substances. The brand doesn't test product on the animals, which makes it suitable for vegetarians and vegans. What can you expect from D'Alchemy? Lots of natural extracts, oils, hydrosols and essential oils. I'm aware that not everyone is a fan of aromatherapy, but I'll focus on this in a 'texture & scent' part. D'Alchemy products are free from 11 substances: formaldehyde, synthetic preservatives (unless they are identical to natural ones), parabens, lanolin, paraffin, silicones, SLS/SLES, PEG/PPG, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colourants and nano-particles.

Why is organic skincare so famous in Poland?

Organic skincare grew a lot in Poland. In general, skincare is growing in Poland and Ukraine, and there are few reasons for that. It's not only about consumers and their wallets. Some brands started to sell their products overseas. The awareness of skin diseases like skin cancer is higher than ten years ago. These are only a few of the reasons. Organic skincare usually goes along with healthy and slow living. People started to focus more on animal cruelty, and they prefer to choose local brands using local components.

What's microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a skincare procedure. It removes outer layers of the skin. I would recommend you to check this Healthline article since it sums up the whole procedure in easy to understand language. All I want to mention - because this part is necessary - the method of microdermabrasion I'm using is to do horizontal and vertical lines next. It's a great way to remove dead skin cells, it can be useful if you fight with post-acne scars & pigmentation. Remember that Microdermabrasion shouldn't be done during the summer and it can't be used on inflamed skin. D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel can be a good replacement for Microdermabrasion during the summer.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel - Packaging

I love D'Alchemy aesthetic. It gives me minimalistic, but modern vibes. The packaging can be recycled and I think it's an important fact. I don't like when brands consider themselves as green, forgets about the environment. Hopefully, D'Alchemy is thoughtful.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel - Texture

The texture is like a delicate, fine-grain scrub. You can feel the texture on the skin. It feels nothing like the microdermabrasion treatment, but I like the feeling of rice powder on my skin.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel - Scent

The scent is herbal, it's even hard to say what it reminds me of - Witch Hazel, a bit of Vervain and maybe a bit of Rosemary and Sage. It's a specific scent and some people might not enjoy it, but this scent makes me relaxed.

Who can use D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel?

When we select scrubs for different skin types, we have some rules - skin type, skin condition, sensitivity to the substances. I'm glad that D'Alchemy wrote on their website that Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel is not recommended for acne-prone skin with signs of inflammation. Similar to microdermabrasion treatment, this scrub can't be used on inflamed skin because it contains tiny elements that can make inflamed skin worse. If your skin is sensitive I would be careful with the pressure and amount of treatment during the week. Skin with rosacea and PIE should be careful with this peel as well - it might make your skin condition worse, for these two conditions it's safer to use enzyme peels or chemical peels.

According to D'Alchemy, it's a witch hazel hydrosol. It's a remedy for rosacea. It's also an astringent with soothing and antibacterial properties.

Kaolin Kaolin is also known as China Clay
It's a great clay for all skin types, because it's the most delicate clay available. It has a positive meaning to oily skin since it can absorb the sebum.

Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Water
It's a hydrosol with antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It's told to have a relaxing scent.

Lippia Citriodora (Verbena) Leaf Water
It's a Verbena hydrosol. It's also a herb used in traditional medicine. I love the scent of verbena because it's fresh and it doesn't remind me herbs at all. I would say it's more like lemon, and even if it's a hydrosol - D'Alchemy Essential Body Balm also contains this ingredient and it smells clearly like vervain. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties. This ingredient is ideal for acne-prone skin.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel

Propanediol
It's an Ecocert approved preservative and solvent used instead of Propylene Glycol. It's derived from corn grain, and it works as a humectant.

Dicaprylyl Carbonate
It's a plant-derived stabilizer, it acts like emollient on the skin which makes it ideal for dry skin.

Isopropyl Palmitate
Another emollient.

Glyceryl Stearate
Another plant-derived emollient. According to D'Alchemy, it prevents the skin from transepidermal water loss.

Cetearyl Glucoside and Cetearyl Alcohol
Emulsifiers.

Aqua
I feel like I don't need to introduce you to the most popular ingredient which usually you can meet at the beginning of the formulas.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel

Glycerin
It's one of the most known moisturizers.

Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil
According to D'Alchemy, Lavender Oil can help with skin inflammation and fungal infections. It's an oil used in Aromatherapy, it can be relaxing, but some people might fight it irritating. Every person reacts differently to skincare ingredients and aromatherapy.

Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil
Source of Vitamins A and C. It has a calming effect, so if you can stress this scent might be helpful. It's recommended to acne-prone skin because it can speed up the healing process.

Pyrus Malus (Apple) Juice
A natural source of AHA, but in this case Pyrus Malus (Apple) Juice is used to brighten the dull skin.

Prunus Persica (Peach) Juice
Source of Vitamins B and minerals. It helps with moisture and elasticity of the skin.

Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Seed Extract
Source of Vitamin E. Wheat is better for dry and mature skin, it's a good moisturizer.

Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract
Source of Vitamins C and E and beta-carotene. It's a rich in minerals extract ideal for acne-prone skin.

Panax Ginseng Root Extract
My favourite ingredient. A powerful antioxidant used for ages in Chinese Traditional Medicine but also Korean Hanbang.

Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Wood Oil
Essential oil with antiseptic properties.

Cinnamomum Zeylanicum (Cinnamon) Bark Oil
Cinnamon Bark Oil can help with pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil
Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory oil.

Source of Vitamin C. According to D'Alchemy, it helps with moisture and capillaries.

Rosa Damascena (Damask Rose) Flower Oil
An ingredient with high value, this rose is typical for Bulgaria. Damask Rose is a source of Vitamin C, but it is used for mature skin since it works well for the elasticity of the skin.

Potassium Sorbate
It's a preservative that protects the product from microorganisms like fungi (because not every fungus is positive).

Sodium Benzoate
It's a preservative, and according to D'Alchemy, it's derived from blueberries, cranberries, mushrooms, cinnamon, cloves and dairy products.

Sodium Phytate
It's an ingredient derived from rice grain. Its main task is to save ingredient properties.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel

Tocopherol
It's a Vitamin E - excellent antioxidant and moisturizer.

Beta-Sitosterol
It's a soothing ingredient with a structure similar to cholesterol. It works as an emulsifier.

Alcohol
It helps with product penetration. The amount is so small, so you shouldn't be scared of it. It won't dry you out.

Squalene
It's an emollient, which naturally occurs in the human body. It's a moisturizer that prevents skin from TEWL and makes your skin smooth. The source of squalane in D'Alchemy products comes from nature. In this case, it might be a plant-like olive or amaranth.

Gluconolactone
It's a PHA acid, an exfoliator, but it's so mild that even sensitive skin can use it. It works better as a moisturizer than an exfoliator.

Calcium Gluconate
A humectant and stabilizer with positive effects on sensitive skin.

Hydrolyzed Algin
It's a derived from Algae humectant.

Zinc Sulfate
A preservative

Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid is also known as BHA. It's an ideal exfoliant for acne-prone skin, but D'Alchemy uses it also as a preservative.

Sorbic Acid
It's a preservative.

Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Eugenol and Cinamal
These are perfuming ingredients.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel

What do I think about D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel?

Usually, I try to run away from mechanical exfoliants - even during my practice as an esthetician, I usually go for enzyme peels and chemical exfoliation, because they are safest products I can use and the majority of my clients have rosacea or PIE. Since my skin is combo and acne-prone, but my acne isn't in an "active" form - it's nothing else than lots of pimples on the skin - I can use this scrub. Application of this scrub is like a ritual, I use it as a scrub mask - I apply it gently on the skin with a circular motion and then I leave it for a while. It's my way to relax after a long day. Even if I work with scents and people who usually wear perfumes and sometimes all the scents I smell during the day is making me overwhelmed with fragrances, still, D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel makes me calm. It's a heavy herbal scent, but there are some scents which I like to smell no matter what like ginseng or verbena. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. The skin is smooth, soft and delicate in touch after the scrub is done, it's a clay-based product so it can take a couple of minutes to remove it from the surface of the skin.

D'Alchemy Natural Micro-Dermabrasion Peel - Price & where to buy it?

Check D'Alchemy to find shops that carry their products in your country - there's a huge selection of places in Spain where you can find the brand.

The best Vitamin C + Glycolic Acid treatment I've ever tried | Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules Review

Cache

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

When I was a child, French pharmacies were leading in the dermo-cosmetics field. Right now it seems like French pharmacies are going through renaissance phase because brands like Vichy, La Roche-Posay and Bioderma are releasing many new products. Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules & Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules are only a few of the latest releases from Vichy, but they are skincare game-changers, and today I want to show you why you shouldn't sleep on Vichy.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

About Vichy

Vichy is a french dermo-cosmetics brand which I guess everyone knows about. Vichy was created in 1931 by Dr Prosper Haller. The name of the brand originates from the name of the city - Vichy in France. The main ingredient of Vichy products is water. It's not your regular water, but thermal water enriched in minerals. Vichy is focusing on creating products based on research - Vichy tries its best to create hypoallergic products. Lately, Vichy is trying to make formulas and products more environment-friendly.

Peptides vs Glycolic Acid - which one should I try?

Both formulas created by Vichy are unique. Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules is based on phyto peptides. I'm not 100% sure about their effectivity, but regular, synthetic peptides can change your skincare game a lot. You can check my old Swanicoco 99% FGF Ampoule - it's a peptide serum and for me, it's still one of the best treatments for post-acne skin changes like PIE, scars, etc. Peptides will work better during the summer, while Glycolic Acid shouldn't be used in the summer.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

When should you use Glycolic Acid?

Not during the summer, I do not believe that people remember about applying sunscreen every 2-3 hours and when you have glycolic acid it's easy to burn your skin and get worse pigmentation problems than regular.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules - Packaging

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules comes in a paper box, each packaging has 10 or 30 ampoules - depends on which option you choose. Ampoules are made out of glass, the colour of the glass is brown to keep the ampoules stable since Vitamin C formulas love to oxidize.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules - Texture & Scent

Glyco-C Ampoules doesn't have a scent, at least I can't smell it, the texture is like water - even the colour is transparent like water.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules - Ingredients

Aqua/Water, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbyl Glucoside

Aqua or Water is an ingredient which you can find in almost every product, it's purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid aka HEPES is a buffering substance, L'oreal which is an owner of Vichy, mix it with glycolic acid as an acid buffer. Glycolic Acid is probably the strongest acid from AHA group because it's a lightweight acid. What does that mean? It can penetrate your skin more easily than other AHA acids. It can be derived from sugar cane, sugar beets or cantaloupe. It's a water-soluble acid, but alcohol is fine too. Depends on concentration, Glycolic Acid can be a weak peel and a good moisturizer or a heavy peel. It increases the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans aka they keep your skin hydrated. Glycolic Acid removes the dead cells from your skin to keep it fresh, bright and soft. It removes dark spots and helps with wrinkles because it can boost collagen production. It can even make your skin thicker and improve blood circulation in the skin. It works better in a low pH, and not every skin will like it. Sensitive skin might have problems with Glycolic Acid - usually Glycolic Acid hurts my skin even in low concentrations. It's an active ingredient that might cause purging - it's like a breakout after using a new product, after a few days of using Glycolic Acid - purging should be gone. Sensitive skin might prefer AHA cousin - PHA. We shouldn't use Glycolic Acid during the summer and if you do Glycolic Acid treatments - sunscreen is a must! Unless you want to see more dark spots on your skin since your skin after a chemical peel doesn't contain a layer of the dead skin so it's more vulnerable to damage from the environment like UVB & UVA. Vichy gave us 10% of an acid complex which I guess it's not pure Glycolic Acid. Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the skin and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient which we want to see in formulas.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

Usually, when people see Alcohol in skincare, they treat it as the worst thing that exists. The fact is that Alcohol has a positive and negative meaning for our skin. It all depends on the amount of Alcohol. One of the main reasons why companies use this ingredient in their products is better penetration of the skin, thanks to Alcohol substance gets deeper than when it's used on its own. We can't deny that Alcohol kills microorganism and bacteria. It's a long topic, but if you ever search for alcohol to sanitize your hands or makeup brushes - search of Isopropyl Alcohol in 40-70% solutions, they are more effective than 90% versions. Alcohol Denat gives me mixed feelings, but I guess Vichy decided to use Alcohol Denat no to enhance absorption, but because Glycolic Acid is soluble in water and alcohols. Propanediol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Similar to Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol is an ingredient that people are scared of. That's why in organic skin care you're most likely to see Propanediol instead of Propylene Glycol since this ingredient is recommended by Ecocert. Pentylene Glycol is a solvent. Sodium Hydroxide is sometimes called... LYE! But it's not a lie that Sodium Hydroxide helps to keep the right pH of the formula.

Citric Acid is an AHA treatment, and the name gives us a clue - it was derived from citrus like lemon, orange, etc. I barely ever see Citric Acid is used as an exfoliant. We know that Glycolic Acid is the best AHA, Citric Acid is not as effective as other AHA peels, but it's still a good ingredient. Sodium Hyaluronate might sounds familiar. It's a cousin of Hyaluronic Acid, a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor, but this one comes in a salt form. Ascorbyl Glucoside is synthetic, but a more stable cousin of Ascorbyl Acid - Vitamin C. Brands like Vichy calls it Vitamin CG, some people call it "AG". So what's so good about this form of Vitamin C? It's an antioxidant so it fights with free radicals, makes your blood vessels stronger, boosts collagen production and it fights with pigmentation issues. Usually, you can find it in up to 20% concentration in a product.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

How does Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules work?

I was scared that Glyco-C is not a version for me, because previously I had a bad experience with Alpha-H or even professional treatments - it's either burned skin or huge breakout. Both reactions are quite normal because active ingredients like AHA can cause purging, but the amount of purging I had to stand was not normal. Liftsactive Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules comes in two different forms - 10 ampoules (that should be enough for 20 uses) or 30 ampoules (enough for 60 uses). I bought 10 ampoules first and then repurchase them once again. The idea of making tiny ampoules instead of one big ampoule is clever - Vitamin C usually is not a stable so Vichy decided not only to pack the product in smaller containers but also make the glass container brown to protect the product. Although, Ascorbyl Glucoside used in Vichy Glyco-C is a stable form of Vitamin C and Vichy promotes it as Vitamin CG. I've tried Pixi Vitamin C line before, and when I wrote the post, I had no problems with stability, but after 3 months - I had to remove serum and toner and transfer them to the trash. It's normal, there's nothing weird in the oxidation of vitamin C.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

The packaging is made out of glass, so you need few tissues to grab the top part and break it. The set of Glyco-C (and Peptide-C) ampoules contains tiny plastic funnel with a plug. Let's be honest, you'll lose the plug anyway because it's a tiny part. The first set I had - plastic funnel got broken and the plastic plug got lost. Ampoules are made out of glass, the corners of the opened ampoules are rough that's why you might have sometimes problems with destroying the funnel if you try too hard.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

The application itself is easy - half of the ampoule is enough for one use, then we lock the funnel with tiny plug and we can use it once more. I always apply Glyco-C during the evening routine straight after cleansing - there's no need to use the toner since we would have to wait for toner to fully dry. It's the same technique I use with professional acid peel treatments. What I do differently - I do not neutralize the acid with water or neutralizer - Vichy didn't develop a neutralizer for Glyco-C series. I just follow with the next routine step - serum. In my case, I didn't have to deal with any itching, but I got through the purging phase (about 2 days) and then after the mask restriction came - I had to stop using the treatment for few days because my skin started to get dry patches on my cheeks - the area covered with a mask.

According to Vichy, Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C fights with different types of pigmentation - hyperpigmentation, post-acne pigmentation, age spots or pigmentation related to UVA & UVB radiation. In four weeks we should see 21% less dark spots and 37% less post-acne pigmentation which I would prefer to call PIE - post irritation erythema. After 8 weeks, 36% of pigmentation should be reduced. The efficiency of this treatment according to Vichy is 90%-100%, depends on what you need. After only a few days my friends saw a change - they saw it coming before I did, my skin looked brighter than normal, even if my acne was pretty heavy. Glyco-C won't fight fully with acne but it will make your acne less heavy, but you have to go through the purging stage. After the whole treatment (two packages, 10 ampoules each), I can say - I see the difference in pigmentation of the skin - PIE is less visible, the skin feels soft and moist, even if I still have to deal with blackheads, my skin is getting better. It's not a summer treatment so my timing in posting this review is quite bad, but I wanted to take a bit longer and use at least 20 ampoules before I share the result with you. Vichy didn't disappoint me and I feel like Vichy started to recoup the prestige. It's no longer this expensive French brand with not so good formulas, now it's another strong player in skincare game.

The treatment was painless unless you put it on fresh wound then don't expect a miracle while applying it on wounds. My skincare when using Glyco-C is easy - 1st cleanser, 2nd cleanser, Glyco-C, serum, eye cream and moisturizer. I do apply Glyco-C near the eye area, but few things you should remember when applying it near eyes - be extra careful with acid near eyes. Glycolic Acid can help you with eye wrinkles. When you decide to use Glyco-C - remember to use it during the colder months and that you still need sun protection while using it.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules

Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules are ampoules created for all skin types. It's a formula based on 10% Ascorbic Acid aka pure Vitamin C. Vichy recommend to use it after cleansing and according to the brand, you should see elasticity changes almost right after application and after 28 days you can see the difference in wrinkles. According to Vichy, it has 79-87% efficiency.

Aqua/Water, Ascorbic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Pentylene Glycol

Ascorbic Acid is a basic Vitamin C form. It's an antioxidant with amazing brightening skills, but it has one problem - it's a least stable form. We got here 10% Ascorbic Acid form, it's a great idea for acne-prone and sensitive skin since many people do not tolerate higher amounts of Vitamin C. Other advantages of Ascorbic Acid is collagen production and blood circulation boost - I love to use it on broken blood vessels and PIE (Post Irritation Erythema). It fights with damages caused by UV radiation well. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is bad. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

I guess three next ingredients are supposed to be these so-called "phyto peptides". Hydrolyzed Rice Protein is a humectant, but it also does a great job with hair. Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is another family member of Hyaluronic Acid. It has a low molecular weight which makes it better since it can penetrate your skin easily. It hydrates your skin. Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein is not my favourite ingredient - I'm allergic to lupine, that's why I'm not sure if I should use this version of Liftactive ampoules, but it's a source of peptides with positive meaning for hair condition and scalp. Pentylene Glycol is a solvent with antimicrobial properties. It can help with skin hydration.

How does Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules work?

I bought Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules for my cousin since she wanted to get Glyco-C version after she saw my skin, but she doesn't use sunscreen - and as her cousin who's an esthetician I can't force her to use SPF, she's one of many people who thinks SPF in a fluid is enough. Honestly, I have no idea how to fight with such people - SPF is a must and it should be a separate step. Peptide version seemed right for her and so far she likes it! Her skin got brighter after the first use - she has a dull skin because during the quarantine she didn't focus as much on skincare. I'm not sure if I'll try Peptide-C myself due to lupin protein. Both Glyco-C and Peptide-C are very similar, but I think that Glyco-C is more effective since phyto peptides combined with Vitamin C seem to be weaker than Glycolic Acid with a more stable version of Vitamin C.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

How much does it cost?

I guess Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules is not available everywhere since I couldn't see it in the UK and the US. In Poland, Glyco-C costs about 99 PLN for 10 ampoules and around 199 PLN for 30 ampoules. In Poland, you can get it from MyDermaCenter or at Super-Pharm. In France, Glyco-C costs €27,80 for 10 ampoules and €54,30 for 30 ampoules and you can find it at Vichy's website.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Peptide-C Ampoules are more available all around the world. Peptide-C costs $29.50 for 10 ampoules and $59 for 30 ampoules in the US on Vichy's website. In the UK 10 ampoules costs £30 and 30 ampoules - £59 also on the official website. In France, Peptide-C costs €27,80 for 10 ampoules and €54,30 for 30 ampoules - you can buy if from the official website.

I couldn't find a price of Glyco-C and Peptide-C in Germany, but both version are available in Germany, the same with Belgium - both are available, but I couldn't check the price. In the Czech Republic, both versions are available and price ranges are about 500 - 2200 CZK on Notino. Denmark has only Peptide-C version, 10 ampoules cost 250 DKK and 30 ampoules - 500 DKK. The Middle East has only Glyco-C version available. In Bulgaria, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Norway, Hong Kong - you'll only get Peptide-C. Ukraine, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Greece, Austria, Russia, Romania, Portugal, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, Singapore have both versions.

Vichy Liftactiv Specialist Glyco-C Ampoules

The toner that ever minimalist and green beauty enthusiast will love | D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner Review

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

Do you use toners in your skincare routine? I do, but some toners work better for me like a mist which I like to use during the day to keep my skin hydrated than a toner used in morning or evening routine. Meet D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner - a product made by organic skincare brand from Poland.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner - Packaging

Similar to D'Alchemy Essential Body Balm, D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner has biophotonic glass packaging. Biophotonic glass makes products safer since regular glass packaging does not protect the product from oxidation. It's a common problem for Vitamin C serums - wrong packaging can make the unstable forms of Vitamin C survive a shorter amount of time. I'm not a specialist of biophotonic glass, but according to the internet, it blocks visible light, but it won't block the product from UV and Infra-Red (IR). The wavelengths that go through the packaging have positive meaning for the product. It might be hard to believe, but Biophotonics is nothing new. I didn't use this name before, but Biophotonics is a part of what I'm doing - LED therapy, Photodynamic Therapy, lasers. They all are a part of beauty treatments.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner - Texture & Scent

It's delicate water with a floral, but fresh scent. I'm 100% sure that I can smell grapefruit here.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner - Ingredients

Rosa Damascena (Damask Rose) Flower Water, Propanediol, Aqua, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate Sebacate, Caprylate/Caprate*, Gluconolactone, Rosa Gallica (French Rose) Flower Extract, Trehalose, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Rosa Damascena (Damask Rose) Flower Oil, Hydrolyzed Algin, Calcium Gluconate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Phytate, Citric Acid, Sorbic Acid, Zinc Sulfate, Alcohol, Citral, Citronellol, Limonene

Let's see what's inside.

Rosa Damascena (Damask Rose) Flower Water
It's a hydrosol and byproduct of rose essential oil production. I guess we can consider Bulgaria as a home of damask rose. It has a nice scent, but it can also have antimicrobial properties.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

Propanediol
It's an Ecocert approved preservative and solvent used instead of Propylene Glycol. It's derived from corn grain, and it works as a humectant.

Aqua
I feel like I don't need to introduce you to the most popular ingredient which usually you can meet at the beginning of the formulas.

Glycerin
Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the skin and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient which we want to see in formulas.

Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate Sebacate
According to D'Alchemy, it's an ingredient made out of raw materials that helps to blend the formula.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

Gluconolactone
Gluconolactone is a PHA acid. It's a delicate cousin of AHA, ideal for sensitive skin. It's a weak exfoliant, but it attracts the moisture. That's all sensitive skin needs. It helps with wrinkles and makes the skin barrier stronger. What else do we need? It's a good antioxidant which you need to try.

Rosa Gallica (French Rose) Flower Extract
Source of Vitamin C. According to D'Alchemy, it helps with moisture and capillaries.

Trehalose
Trehalose is sugar and another moisturizer in this formula.

Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil
Another essential oil on the list. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It's one of the ingredients recommended to treat cellulite and stimulate circulation. We have to remember that essential oils like Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil are phototoxic - if you plan to sunbathe then use a sunscreen while using it

Sodium Benzoate
It's a preservative, and according to D'Alchemy, it's derived from blueberries, cranberries, mushrooms, cinnamon, cloves and dairy products.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

Rosa Damascena (Damask Rose) Flower Oil
An ingredient with high value, this rose is typical for Bulgaria. Damask Rose is a source of Vitamin C, but it is used for mature skin since it works well for the elasticity of the skin.

Hydrolyzed Algin
It's a derived from Algae humectant.

Calcium Gluconate
A humectant and stabilizer with positive effects on sensitive skin.

Potassium Sorbate
It's a preservative that protects the product from microorganisms like fungi (because not every fungus is positive).

Sodium Phytate
It's an ingredient derived from rice grain. Its main task is to save ingredient properties.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

Citric Acid
D'Alchemy uses Citric Acid to balance the pH.

Sorbic Acid
It's a preservative

Zinc Sulfate
A preservative.

Alcohol

Citral, Citronellol and Limonene
These ingredients are perfuming ingredients.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

How does D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner work?

One of the things I love the most about D'Alchemy is packaging - solid, back glass with that minimalistic and professional vibe. I swear once I open my practice I wish all products would look like that. Although this toner is targetted for mature skin, younger people will enjoy it too. It has a relaxing scent and I like to use it during the day to spray it around my face when I'm working - it's like a win-win situation because I got a scent and hydration. Still, you shouldn't expect surprises with this toner, it's not a super hydrating toner, it's a delicate mist which needs to be followed by a moisturizer if you're using it in morning or evening routine. Because it has essential oils I would recommend using it with sunscreen. According to D'Alchemy, this toner should help balance the pH, help with acne, ageing, pores and sebum production. It's hard to say if it does all that stuff, but I can't deny rose oil used in this product is one of my favourite oils for all skin types, for a long time I was using rose oil to get my skin looking healthy and I guess if it wouldn't be my problem with scents and how Korres Wild Rose Oil started to smell too heavy after formula change, I'm trying to stay away from rose oil. Somehow, D'Alchemy products are not too heavy for me and I enjoy their scents. I strongly believe that it's hard to review a toner. What I can say - I do recommend it, but I would recommend to use it during autumn or winter, even spring. For summer, it's a nice product as long as you remember about sunscreen and that goes to every product with essential oils and photosensitive ingredients.

D'Alchemy Hydrating Dew Toner

New to the unit are Luke Alvez, a former Army ranger and excellent tracker recruited from the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force, and Stephen Walker, a seasoned profiler from the Behavioral Analysis Program who brings with him his spy-hunting skill set.
